Plug Into Better Shipping - Part 2: Temando.com - The Basics


First up, let’s get back to basics. Today’s post will start from the very beginning and will take you through step-by-step how to:


1. Sign up for a Temando Profile
2. Nominate payment method


These are important steps to get out of the way before we get into the nitty gritty of configuring your Magento extension. In the coming weeks we will get a bit more exciting looking at packaging configuration, multiple locations, click and collect and other great Temando features in Magento.


Please note this series assumes you have downloaded and installed the Temando Magento Shipping Extension from one of our plans: Starter, Professional, Business, and Enterprise. If you have not you can download Starter from Magento Connect or contact one of our Solution Managers. Once you have installed the extension you need to enter your Temando Profile details into the configuration section of the Magento admin panel.


To create a Temando Profile -


1. Go to www.temando.com
2. Click Sign In


3. Click Create A New Account under the Register column
4. Enter in your details as prompted – be sure to select Company


5. Once successful, select ‘Go to your account’ and select ‘My Details’ from the main navigation


6. Take note of your ‘Account No.’ and ‘Login ID’ as you will need these in the Magento Admin                 section


Secondly, to start shipping, we need you to nominate a preferred payment method. If you would like a trading account please speak to your Solution Manager or Contact our support team.
To use the Auto Top up function;


1. In the My Details section, select  PCI Compliant from Payment Details

2. Select Store Credit Card for Express Payment in Future Transactions
3. Enter the card details and select Update from the bottom of the page


4. Navigate back to the Payment Details section in Auto Credit Top Up and enter the amount you             wish to be automatically charged to your credit card
5. Select Update from the bottom of the page


Temando will add Temando credit to your profile when your Temando credit balance reaches $0 and you make a courier booking. Your credit card will automatically be charged, topping up your Temando Credit.


Now you’re all set up in Temando let’s transfer these details to Magento admin so the extension can work in sync with Temando.


1. Log into your Magento admin
2. Select Temando > Configuration Settings > Temando Settings from the top tool bar
3. In the ‘General’ section enter your: Client ID (Account No), Login ID and Password
4. Select save config



Now you are ready to start shipping with the Temando Shipping Extension for Magento.

Plug Into Better Shipping - Part 1: From the top


Welcome to the first entry in our ‘Plug into better shipping’ – a 12 part instructional series to guide you through optimising Magento with Temando’s shipping extension.

Shipping in eCommerce is often an afterthought. You have invested heavily in the product, positioned your brand and created the perfect website, only for your customers to abandon their carts. In this series we will look at configuring the Temando extension to increase your conversion rates and ultimately the profitability of your entire shipping operation. Hopefully you will take away some valuable tips and plug into better shipping.

Let’s start from the top – what Shipping Extension is right for your business? The Temando Shipping Extension for Magento is available in 4 suitable plans; Starter, Professional, Business and Enterprise. Each plan has been tailored to suit different businesses sizes and needs and can be viewed on our website.

Starter
Our basic starter version is free for download from the Magento Connect Store, help tutorials and configuration guides are easily accessible to assist your developer to basically configure the extension, ready to use.

Professional
Why do I need the professional plan?
  • You would like to take advantage of our advanced rules engine, which allows you to dynamically display delivery options to your customers – Standard, Express, Same Day. The rules engine also allows you to govern your shipping by managing which postcodes are allocated to certain carriers and delivery options.  
  • The Temando system is a Hybrid rates system which means you can upload your own carrier rates (BYO) from almost any carrier in the world and still benefit from multi-carrier accessibility.

Business
Why do I need the Business plan?
  •  You wish to take your business to the next level or already have M2E Pro and Onestepcheckout.com installed and you require our module to be configured to work with these plugins
  • You have bricks and mortar stores and you wish to move your business into the omni-channel with functionality like our ‘click and collect’ module
  •  You receive a large percentage of multi-item orders - requiring the use of our pick slip functionality
  •  You receive a large number of orders daily and wish to print labels in bulk
  • Use our Packaging optimization logic to drive costs down by automating which packaging to use based on the customer’s order information. 

Enterprise
Why do I need the Enterprise plan?
  •  You want the bee’s knees – a complete omni-channel fulfilment solution with real-time inventory management, click and collect, split shipments, drop ship and integrated returns module  

Whilst all versions can be installed by your Magento developer, due to its complexity we recommend an advanced Magento developer complete the installation to ensure it is correctly integrated. Alternatively, Temando can install the extension quickly and correctly (additional costs associated). Whilst there may be a few complex components to the install – the useability of the extension is simple for both the customer and admin user.

Positive Refund and Cancellation Policy Changes






Our business has grown and in this process we’ve been taking on board a range of feedback from our customers, just like you. You have spoken and we have listened and made a few tweaks to our Refund and Cancellation policy to benefit your needs.

These changes are currently in effect. From this date, when you use our software via API, website integration or directly on Temando.com, and check the ‘agree to terms and conditions’ box you agree to these new terms.

The important gist of the changes - 

When we will offer a refund:
If you change your mind
If you make a mistake
If you want to make changes to your booking

When we will not offer a refund:
If the item has been collected
If the courier has attempted to collect the items


Refunds will first be offered in Temando credit, for convenience, and you can continue to use your Temando Profile. Should you wish to have your refund made by original payment method – just let us know, we will be happy to do so.
